2016 news:

December 5th, 2016

I've been uploading to the DLS a number of buildings from the Carson City yard. Many of those buildings come in three different color schemes to cover three different eras on the V & T. Currently, I'm working on animating and scripting the dual water tower and the McKeen motorcar shed.

Just got back from the Virginia and Truckee Historical Society's annual convention in Carson City. I've uploaded my presentation on the history of the Carson City yards to the presentations folder, if anyone feels like taking a look. I'm now in the process of uploading some of the buildings I created for this presentation to the DLS (the models were suitable for a long-range view in the presentation, but not enough quality to actually upload). The first set of models is now on the DLS - the sand house on the east end of the yards. These are now animated, with normal maps, and support loading locomotives that use Prowler901's sand product (such as Daniel's fine C&C locomotives ).

I updated the links for Trainboi's content, now that Trainz-Forge is able to be updated again. Work continues on the Carson City yard, but there's quite a bit remaining.....

A slightly late update.... In the last couple of months, I've uploaded a set of roads that follow the Yarn(ish) guidelines - simple unmarked concrete roads and intersections fitting an 80' right-of-way. Designed to match the main street through Carson City in the 1920s, these roads should be applicable in many small towns. Work on Carson City progresses - I'm currently re-laying the track with new switches, and have built half a dozen new buildings in the yard area in preparation of the V↦T Conference in October. I also updated a couple of A-frame turntables; improving the LOD and adding normal maps to the pit. Finally, I finished the cliff splines, and will upload them to the DLS tomorrow if no issues pop up.

I've added some new models by Trainboi1 - a slightly updated version of V&T No. 25, V&T Nos. 19 and 20, YVRR Nos 21 and 23, a 9-stall SP roundhouse and 120' turntable, a narrow-gauge boiler load for flat cars, and some updated C&S passenger cars.
A number of Minden buildings are now on the DLS; I'll add them to this site Soon(tm).  Finally, I've started work on the Carson yard area, with some roads and miscellaneous buildings under construction.

Took a little bit of a break to recover from last year's presentation on Minden, but am back at work now. I'm going through my hard drive and finishing up a number of models that were almost complete and getting them on the DLS.
