porter 0-4-0, whTam I doing wrong?

Post by whecsailor »

Hi pencil42, I broke down and bought Trannz 2012 (and ordered the TANE too) and it is all updated. I downloaded your current version of the30 in porter, and Christmas porter. neiter show missing dependencies and neither show any errors, it shows up and can be placed on the tracks, but the moment I click on it, the Driver window vanishes and I cannot do a thing with it but admire its beauty.
I can make the whistle function from the pull down menu, but every time I try to select to run it in driver, the window vanishes. Please, am I doing something wrong? might you know what it is??

Hmmm - if you haven't yet, try making sure a driver is assigned in surveyor. I think old versions of Trainz automagically assigned drivers, but the newer ones don't.

Yep, I knew t had to be operator error.
somehow I needed to assign the engineer to it and it took right off. She is still a real beauty I think! One of my very favorites.
Have you ever given thought to make a 3ft bogey for her?

I have to confess, I think a 3ft gauge version would be awesome! There aside from Narrowgauge's Porter (which is based on a 2ft gauge prototype anyway) there really aren't any nice little saddle tank Porters like yours. Anyway, just voicing my opinion here.

I originally hacked that Porter from a 3' version by Narrowguage. The original is at http://www.trainzone.co.nz/steam.htm#MERCED%204-4-0
