Re: The Colusa & Lake (36ng) for Trainz
I might attempt to just that, but I am honestly having a hard time finding a road spline that isn't ugly. The one shown in my screenshots has only ever been for temporary use because it doesn't lay on the "ground" it actually floats above the ground. I tend to take screens from higher angl...

Re: The Colusa & Lake (36ng) for Trainz
I've been meaning to post a project update for a while, but I tend to be so busy bouncing between projects anymore that it is tough to find the time. I am pleased to report that the first beta for the route should be available in coming weeks! This version will represent the line as it may have look...

Re: The Colusa & Lake (36ng) for Trainz
Norm, I've been in contact with Togog and have been working with him to create Colusa & Lake #2, more or less as she should look for the 1890s. In return, I've been helping him with Baldwin information for a couple projects of his own. Hopefully I can get C&L #3 on the project list as it was...

Re: Turntable in progress
Norm,
This style of turntable is based upon a CPRR design used across their system. Curtis has done a marvelous job, I can't wait to try it out.

Re: (36NG) C&TL&FCo. 22' Flatcar
I had forgotten the drawing was put into Bader's equipment book. #105 was involved in a wreck that is captured in this photo . When I get around to the C&C versions of this car I will include the water tank load as I know Craig will enjoy having that for the B&B which had a similar car. C&am...

Re: (36NG) C&TL&FCo. 22' Flatcar
John,
The car and trucks come from a drawing by Herman Darr, Coronado hobbies carries his plans.
The track was made by Curtis and I am not sure if it is available for download yet, but will be in the future.

(36NG) C&TL&FCo. 22' Flatcar
History has repeated itself. After attending the V&T Historical Society Conference I was inspired and dusted off an old GMAX model. With a little help from Curtis' source files I was able to convert my old MSTS version of this car and begin giving it some upgrades. I modified Curtis' CP truck in...

Re: The Colusa & Lake (36ng) for Trainz
The tender is part of the locomotive, you can see a similar model available in the 1889 Porter catalog here . I'll have to see if someone has the spec sheet for this one, I am curious to know more about it's as built appearance. What is surprising is this locomotive lasted as long as it did. If you ...

Re: The Colusa & Lake (36ng) for Trainz
This interesting photo fell into my lap the other day. I am probably not supposed to share it but it's so interesting I had to. So, to compromise you get "tiny" vision, for research purposes of course. ;) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1967747/RR/CL1-near-Mills-sm.jpg Is that ugly or what? Notic...

A Short Tour - Continued Again
Once you're past the junction there isn't much but a lot of straight track and grass. Eventually the historic farms and other scenes will break up the monotony. Right now, it's a lot of boring. The most interesting parts of this section are the slough and canal crossings which are home to countless ...

A Short Tour - Continued
After crossing the canal the next stop is Lurline. In this screen shot you can see the canal crossing in the distance. Lurline.jpg After crossing more valley we reach Colusa Junction and the Northern Railway (CP/SP) crossing. I have not yet found a photograph of the buildings that were present at th...

A Short Tour
Since you were asking to see more screenshots I figured I'd put together a short tour. So far you've seen Sites and the canyon, areas that I've spent a lot more time working on than the rest. In the past few days I started working on the valley portion more. To date I've adjusted the grade to follow...
