Re: Promontory Stuff

Nice work! This project I've been posting over at pacificng, as there's a small collection of CP-interested people over there; and it grew out of a post someone made over there last year. http://www.pacificng.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=38 for most, though there's some stuff in the prototype section a...

Re: Trainz 2019

Yep, I've played with it a bit. The new parallax mapping for ground textures really increases the realism, imho. I haven't tried the new grass effects yet, but the screenshots look good.

Re: Hello guys. It's been awhile.

Hey Rick!

Sorry I missed your post. Yeah, most versions of Trainz need the Internet. There is (or was) a version of TANE that didn't need the Internet, but I don't know if it is still available or not.

Welcome back!!

Re: The Mojave & Panamint Railroad

I think Pencil's tunnel tracks will work much better here once he gets them finished
When / if :P
Yes, I do need to finish them. I'll have to dig them back up and see what's left to do......

Nice looking shots!

Re: 'T&T All the Way' to Goldfield, NV (1916) - A HO Scale Trainz Layout

That looks great! I picked up the Tonopah & Tidewater book last fall, and thought it would be a fun railroad to model (that and the Las Vegas and Tonopah). Parts of the LV&T are still visible on the road between Las Vegas and Goldfield...

Re: 1920s stuff

For the gates, I still need to finish the model and animate it (and then set up some nice generic crossings to use them). It'll probably be after the convention in October, though; they're good enough for my presentation so I likely won't spend more time on them until after the presentation is compl...

Re: 1920s stuff

A couple simple crossing signs. Taken from the 1927 AASHO traffic manual, I *believe* signs like this were is use (a little?) earlier. I've seen them in photos dated 1950; I'm sure some survived in use past then. http://carsoncarshops.com/gallery3/var/albums/Virginia%20_and_%20Truckee/crossing%20sig...

Re: 1920s stuff

As far as I can tell, commercial vehicles back then tended to be put together by the purchaser - chassis and engine from the manufacturer, and the body from a separate company. So, they were all custom jobs. I've seen a variety of colors on the Internet, but nothing to suggest anything was 'standard...
