Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge
I'm certainly still learning about Blender. Took me quite a while to figure out the sky.

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge
Got something new. It's a little more modern, but still in the era.

Re: Playing with Blender
Nice! The textures are excellent, and the wood poles look like photos!
NormHart, I've heard multiple sources say it's from Virinia City or from Carson.

Ready to Export
Alright! Truckee and Tahoe are ready for export; with any luck they'll have bogies by tomorrow. http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2013/191/5/7/the_theory_by_trainboi-d6cw0s5.jpg The lining was based off Craig Hoefer's decal designs and Curtis's existing small moguls, so I'm not sure if it's totally ...

Re: Playing with Blender
Nice! It seems to be going well. Could you do a version without the rear toolbox? It'd be a near perfect(if not truly perfect) model for the larger moguls that way from what I can see, and that'd definitely save some time getting them out of the car shop. Thanks for rebuilding an already amazing set...

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge
Textures are proceeding: http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/190/4/8/full_render_experiments_by_trainboi-d6cqq0t.jpg Now the details of the cab, domes, headlight and headlight bracket are next. Animation is complete, including a bell with separately animated clapper(absolutely critical to make it...

The mesh is done: http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/188/d/1/all_the_nobs__bells_and_valve_gears_by_trainboi-d6cgrp3.jpg The cab is on a separate layer so that I can toggle whether the lining should be round or square(Truckee & Tahoe or Santiago & Merrimac) and the bell and coupling bar ...

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge
The '87 plans would only help me at this point if they have paint; the mesh will be done as soon as I get the valve gear done, so I'll probably send you the .blend file to you to see what I missed. Maybe I'll just have to miss some of school for that conference-many students will be gone anyway beca...

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge
Hopefully you'll have at least 4(I hope to do the #s 1-3 as well) new moguls to show. About the Baldwin standards... does that mean that the air compressor and reservoirs should be wine too on the Truckee & Tahoe and lake on the Santiago & Merrimac? I know I can't trust Ames to have his pain...

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge
I have seen those models, and I must say I wish I had the space to get one and run it straight into late August. They look fabulous! I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend the V&TRRHS conference items that would be most useful(and interesting) to me; the website doesn't list the time, though if ...

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge
I'll work on getting fuel and sounds working on my current project, which is a little closer to home here. http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/186/7/8/tahoe2_by_trainboi-d6c3d8v.jpg For anyone who doesn't recognize this, it's a model of the later V&T Moguls(Truckee, Tahoe, Santiago & Merr...
