Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge

Do you know what the factory colors for Mason were? Most of the models I've seen were in either darkish green or royal blue.

Re: Union Pacific Side Door Cabooses

Hey what's that Caboose in the background of that last picture? It kinda looks familiar too.

And an interesting track end buffer.

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge

No doubt you are right and I was just wishful thinking although I would have sworn I saw a photo that had the exact lettering as the Jupiter I can not find it now. I'm sure you have these but I'll throw them in. 50_177.jpg This is from the California State Railroad Museum Library and is dated 1883 i...

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge

Based solely on one photograph and the position of the lettering in that photograph which matches the lettering position on the Jupiter I believe the Goob came out of the shops wearing the Caledonian color scheme or at least wore that scheme at some point in time. Trainboi1 says that she had at leas...

Re: The Fiddletown & Copperopolis Ry!

Well that goat on the depot is pretty obviously a 0-2-0T Porter.

Lots of those around in just about any gauge you want.

I'm not sure if you have seen this post.

but it appears that there is some rolling stock for the T&T. Getting your hands on it may be difficult though.

Re: North Tahoe Narrow Gauge

Nice! Now we just need to backdate the Donner Pass route :) Jango has made comments to me on the possibility. If you look closely here and there along the route you will find bridges and tunnels from the earlier tracks. Trainboi1 that is so hot! I've always thought that the pre-1900s locomotives we...

Re: Not to be a pest about T:ANE

Don't know how I missed this update but better late than never... http://hostthenpost.org/uploads/287f113faf083dd13cf5ec9ef3d5d7fa.jpg Looks and sounds great! Bell animation is cool but, as you've noted, the bell does just stop in mid swing. Gotta tell that wiper to oil those bearings. (oh, SHINY!) ...

Re: Not to be a pest about T:ANE

Better to do it well than hurry through it, besides so far as I can tell TANE is still in its early stages. Who knows what they will change. Are you going to be able to reproduce that lovely shiny boiler? I've always felt that weathering was inappropriate on locomotives of this era. Back when they w...

Re: Not to be a pest about T:ANE

I drifted over here to post a picture very much like the OP. But I see you are all on top of that. So here is another problem. :D http://hostthenpost.org/uploads/25f56db14d3a9f9af89e8824160268b3.jpg It looks as though the brass work has got the dreaded pinkngreens. :( Only on the tender but of cours...

Re: Playing with Blender

Hi Norm, That would be most appreciated - thank you! They went in the mail today, you should receive them Monday. I also included all the other stuff I got, general, to scale, layout of tracks at the Skagway and Whitehorse yards. These may be accurate enough to give you some better dimensions of th...

Re: Playing with Blender

Hi Curtis,

I have the engineering plans for the turntable itself, not the pit or roundhouse just the turntable. I'll mail those to you tomorrow.

Cheers.

Re: Rollins Pass NG36

Those do look nice in 3' gauge :) For Meridious' old cars, I think that in the script, there's a section or two that have underscores - just replace those with the same number of spaces, and they should be fine. I should probably talk to an admin over at TPR and see if I can get those changes into ...

Re: Rollins Pass NG36

Thanks for the suggestion Ben! Your freight cars look fantastic. I've always been a fan of chameleon skins and these models use that really well. I hunted around for some trucks that looked good with them and came up with thegrindre's kuid:347185:1088 3' NG Archbar Truck off of TPR. http://imageshac...
